Your tasks as a warehouse employee:

  • Loading and unloading: You load and unload packages from trucks and vans, paying attention to a safe working posture and preventing damage, so shipments can continue in perfect condition.
  • Sorting packages: You sort packages by zip code and route, so each shipment ends up in the correct compartment and container, and drivers can leave quickly.
  • Building and breaking down containers: You build up and break down roll containers and air freight containers, keeping the warehouse organized and transport equipment optimally utilized.
  • Teamwork: You continuously coordinate with colleagues, help where needed, and ensure a smooth process together, so all deadlines are met.
  • Safety and quality: You follow safety regulations carefully and report details immediately, contributing to a safe workplace and reliable service for customers.

Good to know before applying

Utrecht is a vibrant student city with excellent cycling infrastructure and public transport links, making your commute to the DHL Express sorting center quick and easy. The shifts are scheduled either in the early morning (07:00 - 10:00) or evening (18:00 - 21:00), allowing you to attend daytime lectures without any scheduling conflicts. Since you need to be available at least 3 to 4 days per week, including Mondays, planning your study timetable in advance is key. Please note that basic Dutch language proficiency is required for safety, so ensure you meet this requirement before applying.
